All dressed up and ready for a great show, I took my seat with eager anticipation. They really cracked down on photo taking due to copy writing, so I could only snap a few :'(.
They all showed current stock- FW2014, 😕 perhaps I missed the spring show on another day during the week but it somewhat disappointing to me as I was looking for SS2015. I do appreciate they are trying to showcase current inventory so I made the best of it.
First up was the Old Strathcona Clothing retailers. The best of the group was, no surprise, Bamboo Ballroom. They showed a great cashmere/wool wrap coat in bone. It was lovely and the greige oversized clutch was gorgeous.
Cutest of the evening was Clear Innocence Clothing Boutique from St. Albert. Great styling for all the kids in fall trends. I will have to check them out for my son.
Derk’s dressed the celebrity male models. They all looked great.
But Simons for the ladies celebrities was disappointing…hard for me to say because I LOVE Simons! The whole “modern 1940’s” styling did not work. The wrap fur stole is dead….please let it rest. And crushed velvet does not flatter ANYONE. EVER.
The surprise of the evening was Nazila Couture. Wow, beautiful saris and anarkali’s. The bead work is unbelievable. And, I am not sure if she makes her own jewelry or is a just a retailer but seriously some of the most beautiful chandelier earrings and bracelets I have ever seen.
Overall a good show but would have preferred SS2015 instead. 💋
Love your hat!!
