Got plans for tonight? Stumped as to what you should wear? I may have some inspiration for you! Full disclosure…I too struggle to feel “fresh” in January. I think it is because I live in one of the coldest areas in Canada. January is the coldest month of the year and I’ve grown tired of my fall/winter wardrobe and am soooo starting to yearn for spring. But wearing head-to-toe pastels looks a tad strange in 3 ft of snow and -30 degree weather! I try to interject some colour and yes, I will push the style envelope with transition pieces whenever I can, I just try to strike the right balance as well.
This is from my own wardrobe. I will always note if it is not. I like to show what I would wear- which means affordable looks. Good style comes at every price point. Trust me, I would LOVE a Chanel bag, but hey, I am an average hard working Mom, so I do the best with the resources I have, like this little slice below….

What can u do with a simple empty toilet paper roll? Store your jewelry better of course! Upcycle it and store your bracelets so u can see them! No more digging! If u want to get fancy, u could grab a hot glue gun and cover in felt or velvet…for me this works good enough. ♻ #upcycle, # organization, # diy

OK, OK the only “rack” pics are the ones below! I needed to get organized. My old system of “organizing” jewelry was to throw it in a box. Then as I needed it, I would pull it out, to pull out 15 other tangled necklaces, attached by earrings, and a few other misc dangling items…then I would say screw it and go without. So I needed a better system. Looking around at jewelry trees, boxes, etc, everything was too small, too dainty or cutesy. So I headed off to IKEA with an idea and hoped it would work.
I picked up Grundal rod- $9.99 and 2 packages of S hooks, $1.99 for 20 per package. Some drywall anchors and screws using my drill and got to work! Level the Rod, mark the holes and hang. The S hooks are a tad tight but that works for me. That way my 6 year old son can’t slide the hooks up and down the rod 😉
Et voila! Crushed it!
