I don’t know about you…no matter how happy I am with a mascara…I am always on the hunt for an upgrade. I am the philanderer of mascara, I admit it! My holy grail has been Maybelline’s Falsies and I have been faithful for a couple years but I have been eyeballing Benefit’s They’re Real for awhile now and I just couldn’t resist any more. Since I was straying anyway I  thought I would test a few brands. I headed to Sephora, and picked up the Benefit They’re Real for $30, then off to Superstore to pick up Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes for $10, and the lowest price point the Milani Runway Lashes for $5.

I have fairly long lashes but they have gotten thin and sparse over the past 10 years, I need volume! And I have been using Maybelline for a couple years, and very happy with it, but I thought it was time to try something new.

Was it worth it to stray? Here’s the reviews…

1. #Benefit They’re Real- I wanted to love this mascara but I just “like” it…love the wet formula, hate the plastic brush, but like the spiked end, love the length, great lash seperation, but not quite enough volume. I give it a B.

2. #Loreal Voluminous Million Lashes- Another wet mascara, again hate the plastic brush/mini comb wand, good length, minimal volume and it flakes! It’s OK, C-.

3. #Milani Runway Lashes- traditional mascara formula, wand was fibre based- which is a plus for me, found it to be a tad clumpy, but good buildable formula. Not bad, especially for the price. Solid C+ in my book, you get what you pay for.

Verdict? Going back to old faithful, Maybelline? Not entirely… I will use the Benefit They’re Real as a base coat and top with The Falsies to thicken, looks false lashes! WOW, looks like I get to have my cake and eat it too!

And I combined the Loreal and Milani today, and liked them together too! So…I guess they all are winners- just not on their own.
